Couple sells marijuana in social media, gets caught

CEBU - Police have arrested a couple who took advantage of social media sites to sell marijuana online.
Bonn Antiquera and Odessa Cadena, both of Iloilo City, were arrested after allegedly selling almost 10 kilos of suspected marijuana to the police via online transaction.

The two were intercepted along the highway of Barangay Rizal in San Carlos City by joint members of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs - Special Operations Task Group with Provincial Public Safety Campany and San Carlos City police after they brought 10 kilos of marijuana.

Investigation showed that the couple had to travel to Cebu to buy marijuana before selling it in Negros.
"We're surprised to see such increase in marijuana supply along with the decrease in supply and demand of shabu in the province," said Chief Inspector Mark Darroca who heads the PAID-SOTG.

He added that the increase in demand could have been brought about by the PNP's massive Oplan Tokhang in various local government units. The couple refused to be interviewed.

Local police believe a group is behind the sale of prohibited marijuana online.
